Chiesa di Santa Barbara

Chiesa di Santa Barbara
SAN DONATO MILANESE (MI), ITALY

Sacred art between renewal and conservation.

The Church of Santa Barbara, dating back to the 50s and wanted by Enrico Mattei during a period of great industrialization, is an example of renewal and harmony between nature, work and urbanization. It is a real masterpiece: the polychrome facade recalls the Tuscan cathedrals and inside there are many works of art, including the large mosaic of the Crucifixion by Fiorenzo Toma, the stained glass window by Rizzo representing the Resurrection, the high altar in Venetian marble and gold, the furniture and the candelabra of the brothers Giò and Arnaldo Pomodoro.

For the recent maintenance and recovery project, the MORE FTA floor radiant heating system was chosen, which, thanks to its very small footprint, allows to realize finished plants in less than 35 mm thick. The innovative system has therefore allowed the renovation of the floor in full respect of cultural constraints, ensuring comfort, architectural integration and efficiency. The radiant panel allowed the resin floor to be laid directly, offering uniqueness in the representation of the characteristics of the old floor. In addition to ensuring a remarkable climatic wellbeing, this revolutionary system with low thickness, low inertia and high efficiency, is the ideal solution for safeguarding prestigious environments and works of art.
